RIM has released details of some of the enterprise apps that will be available when BlackBerry 10 is unveiled later this week.
SAP, Cisco, Box, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, and BigHand are among the companies that will have their enterprise applications available to download from the launch.
"The developer community for enterprise and government has been incredible in the support of BlackBerry 10," said Derek Peper, vice president for Enterprise Partnerships at RIM, in a statement on Monday.
RIM said it has made it fast and efficient for organisations to develop and manage applications with BlackBerry 10.
RIM has issued developer toolkits that included the BlackBerry 10 Native SDK with Cascades that can be used to create native apps in C/C++ or the Qt Modelling Language, as well as the BlackBerry 10 WebWorks SDK for HTML5 developers, which allows developers to create native-like apps using common programming languages, such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
RIM launched BlackBerry Partners for Enterprise in 2012 as the successor to the BlackBerry Alliance program, with the aim of increasing support to the enterprise software and services community.
"We are having a very good experience developing enterprise-grade finance apps on the BlackBerry 10 platform using the SAP Mobile Platform," said Pete Graham, director of finance solutions & mobility at SAP, in a statement. "With the SAP Mobile Platform the mobile app development community can build apps that can run on both the new BlackBerry 10 and the existing BlackBerry platforms and devices."
Persuading developers to make applications on BlackBerry 10 is seen by many as essential for its success.
